For the seventh time, the Odyssey has been named “Best Van” on Car and Driver’s 5Best Trucks list.* Car and Driver raved that the Odyssey’s safety credentials are “as good as they get: five-star front- and side-impact ratings, a multiplicity of airbags, standard ABS, standard stability control.” And its agility was also praised as “a trait that helps to set the Odyssey above the rest of the minivan herd.”

*Announced March 2008
The 2008 Odyssey has received 5-star frontal and 5-star side-impact crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Every Odyssey comes equipped with standard features such as Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, anti-lock braking (ABS) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Plus, six airbags, including side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor, help protect driver and passengers in sufficient impacts.*

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recognized the Honda Odyssey as a 2008 "Top Safety Pick." The award was based on several extensive tests, including a frontal-offset crash test, side crash test and rear-impact test. In addition, each winner was required to have electronic stability control available as either standard equipment or as an option. Active safety systems such as stability control can help drivers avoid collisions altogether. Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®), also known as electronic stability control, is standard equipment on the 2009 Honda Odyssey.

Showcasing our latest innovations in occupant protection, the Odyssey was designed to give drivers an extra degree of protection via its rigid safety cell and Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure. Proof of this can be seen in its top crash-test ratings—5 stars—in NHTSA frontal- and side-impact tests.** The front-end ACE™ frame structure is designed to be more crash-compatible with vehicles of differing heights, and it absorbs and disperses frontal crash energy over a larger area. It's this type of advanced safety technology that increases passenger protection and your peace of mind.
